My first experience of acupuncture was in 2004, when I sought out an acupuncturist for fertility issues. Having experienced the positive effects acupuncture can have, I decided it was something I wanted to study further.  I had to delay my studies as I fell pregnant.  I went straight to college after my second child started school.

I studied acupuncture and naturopathy for 4 years with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. After graduating I set up practice in Buckhurst Hill, Essex.

I have special interests in fertility and pain management.  I have undertaken post graduate training in infertility and assisted reproduction.  I have also undertaken post graduate training in pain management.

Acupuncture is the stimulation of various body points using fine needles to help the body heal itself.  It is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) which has been around for over 2,000 years.   Pain and illness is a sign of the body being out of balance.  Acupuncture treatments aim to balance the body to bring it back to health.  Evidence-based clinical research is growing and shows that traditional acupuncture safely treats a number of common health conditions.

I treat everyone as an individual.  I take a full case history and establish the diagnosis.  I will then decide on a treatment plan that includes traditional acupuncture, and may include other auxiliary techniques such as auricular acupuncture, electro acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion & gua sha.

As a qualified acupuncturist, I am licensed and insured.  All needles are pre-sterilised, single use and individually wrapped.  I adhere to the British Acupuncture Council’s Code of Safe Practice.

Naturopathy is based on the healing power of nature.  The body can heal itself given the right conditions.  Naturopathy, along with acupuncture, subscribes to this principle.

Naturopaths often use an eclectic approach to prevent disease or guide people back to health.

As a qualified naturopath, I may suggest the use of techniques including nutrition, exercise, iridology, Bach Flowers and tissue salts, as part of your acupuncture consultation.
